June Studio News: A Little Late—But for a Great Reason!

I’m sneaking this update in a little later than usual, but I promise it’s for the best reason: I’ve been spending my days quilting your gorgeous projects on the longarm and putting the final touches on our brand-new classroom space! I’m so excited to finally share what’s coming up—there’s a lot happening at Blue Ridge Quilt Co. this summer, and I hope you’ll be part of it.

🎉 You’re Invited: Summer Open House on June 28

Mark your calendar! On Saturday, June 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM, we’re hosting a laid-back summer open house at the studio. You’ll be able to shop, hang out, and get a first look at the new classroom space!

We’ll have:

• Great discounts

• A few giveaways

• Friendly faces and plenty of fabric

Whether you’ve been meaning to stop by or just want a reason to be around other quilters, this is your chance. No RSVP needed—just come as you are.

P.S. I’m seriously hoping that High Five Coffee (our next-door neighbor) will be back open by then. Fingers crossed! 🤞

🧵 Sewing for Summer: Beachside Bliss Quilt

There’s something about Suzy Quilts’ Slow Summer collection that just feels like sunshine and sea breezes—and the Beachside Bliss Quilt captures that vibe perfectly.

Gail pieced a beautiful sample quilt for the shop, and I’m quilting it now. It’ll be on display at the open house, but you can also grab a kit online if you can’t make it in person.

This quilt is:

• Beginner-friendly

• Quick to finish

• Totally free (yep, the pattern is a free download!) 🙌

🌈 Now Open: Ramble Block of the Month Preorders

This one’s big: preorders are now open for the Ramble Block of the Month by Tara Faughnan. Starting in February 2026, this 12-month journey is all about building skills—think curves, no-tear paper piecing, and strip work—with Tara’s signature style of color and texture.

You can join:

• As a monthly BOM subscriber

• Or purchase the full kit up front

Even better, local participants are invited to monthly open sew sessions in the new classroom. We’ll stitch, support, and encourage each other along the way. It’s going to be so much fun—and so beautiful.

✨ Coming Soon: My Favorite Color is Still Moda

If you’ve been loving Moda Blockheads 6, but wish you didn’t have to wait for weekly patterns, I’ve got a perfect project for you: My Favorite Color is Still Moda.

This quilt is a standalone stunner with a similar vibe to Blockheads—but with all the pieces ready to go. I’ll have kits available in two colorways:

Ruby Star Society Basics – bold, playful, and modern

Moda Mixed Basics – a curated combo of Grunge, Thatched, Bella Solids & more

Kits are available for preorder now, and we’re just waiting on a few final elements to arrive.

📐 New Pantographs in the Studio

I’m always adding to the pantograph library, and there are now more options than ever—whether you love modern geometrics, soft florals, or edge-to-edge textures.

Here’s how pricing works:

• Many designs: $0.02 per square inch

• More intricate/dense options: $0.03–$0.04 per square inch

You’ll always know the cost before quilting begins, and I’m happy to help choose a design that complements your quilt (and budget).

💙 Thank You

Before I go, I just want to say a heartfelt thank you. Whether you’re sending a quilt my way, picking up fabric, or reading along here—your support means the world to me.

In a time when the world can feel heavy, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this creative, kind, and inspiring community. You help make my days brighter, and I appreciate you more than I can say.

Thanks for reading to the end—and I hope to see you soon!

—Megan
