Blue Ridge Quilt Co. is excited to exclusively offer the Pure Solids quilt kit for A Trip Around the Universe, the debut quilt pattern by Joshua Dunn of Lifting and Stitching.
 
Inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope's breathtaking first image of the Carina Nebula - with its cosmic cliffs of deep browns, earthy tones, and sweeping blues - this pattern translates the wonders of the universe into a stunning 65" × 65" throw quilt. Using a single curved-piecing block, the design creates a mesmerizing field of four-point stars that feels truly out of this world.
 
Each kit is cut and assembled by hand using Art Gallery Fabrics PURE Solids, one of the finest quilting cotton lines available. These fabrics are silky, tightly woven, and a dream to work with - especially for curved piecing.
 
We are offering two options - fabric for the quilt top + binding, or fabric for the quilt top, binding, and 108" backing fabric. 
 
What's in your kit
Kit 1 - Top + binding
Includes all fabric needed to complete the quilt top and binding: 4¼ yards of Caviar (PE-413) for the background, ¾ yard each of Toasty Walnut, Sienna Brick, Chocolate, Aero Blue, Royal Cobalt, and Heart of the Ocean, plus ⅝ yard of Caviar for binding. Over 9 yards of fabric!
 
Kit 2 - Top + binding + 108" wideback quilt backing 
Everything in Kit 1, plus 2⅛ yards of Ruby Star Society Speckled Black 108" wideback — no piecing your backing required. 
 
Batting is not included. Quilt pattern is not included.
