Liberate your Log Cabins!

Date: January 24, 2026; 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (one hour lunch break)
In this class we will incorporate improvisation into the traditional log cabin block. Students will work on a variety of styles, including half-log cabins, blocks with wonky centers, tipsy courthouse steps, 3-sided log cabins, and making striped logs. Palettes can be color controlled or all scrappy, or anything in between. Instruction will be provided in constructing these concepts. Examples will be provided for these and other ways to incorporate log cabin blocks into backgrounds or as an abstract interpretation
of a photo.
