Local Drop-off (Asheville area)
If you'd like to drop your quilt off at our studio, please make an appointment (link below). We'll go over all the quilting design details when you're here and make sure you are fully informed about the whole process.

We welcome questions! Don't hesitate to ask us about the process or what to expect when you have your quilt longarmed by Blue Ridge Quilt Co.
It's a good idea to consider quilting designs (pantographs), thread color, and batting options ahead of time. You can find links to those pages here:
Here are some tips for preparing your quilt top, backing, and batting for longarm quilting:
✓Press Quilt Top
Press all seams flat and trim excess threads from the quilt top.
✓Backing & Batting
Be sure that backing (and batting, if you're providing) are at least 4" larger than the quilt top on all four sides. Make sure backing fabric is square.
✓Repair
Repair any holes in seams and remove any pins from the fabric (top and/or backing).
✓Don't Baste
Send all layers separately - i.e. do not baste your quilt. All layers are loaded onto the longarm frame individually.
✓Prep Backing
Press backing, including any seams if it's pieced.

✓Consider a stay stitch
A stay stitch is a line of stitching around the perimeter of the quilt (about 1/8" from the edge) that helps keep seams from popping and helps prevent distortion of any bias edges.
